Quilla’s wine is a blend of wines from different terroirs in the commune of La Haye-Fouassière. Quintessential Muscadet, it offers clean, crisp fruit, with a gunflinty note on the nose, nice balancing acidity and a long minerally finish.
Note son the producer
Domaine de la Quilla is a family winery located in Muscadet’s heartland of La Haie-Fouassière run by the Vinet brothers for the last twenty years, their father Gustave having established the estate in 1948. Their 40ha of vines were planted from massal selection on good quality 3309 rootstocks, they average 35yo and grow on complex metamorphic soils north of the Sèvre river. Their philosophy is rooted in the quality of their soil, working alongside the rhythms of nature, they allow grass to grow between the vines.
They also have a patient approach to winemaking, their cellar is equipped with glass-lined underground vats where wines are aged on fine lees for a minimum of eight months.
