This unique Champagne blends numerous indigenous varieties with multiple vintages, crafted through a solera system initiated in 2005. Seven older Burgundy barrels form the foundation, with reserve wines drawn annually and combined with wines of the current year, making up 40% of the blend. The young vines are biodynamically farmed, with the grapes harvested and pressed together. The current release is based on the 2015 vintage. Just wow!
Notes on the producer
Laherte & Frères are based in Chavot-Courcourt just to the south of Epernay in an area that falls between the Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne. Domaine head Aurélien is part of a dynamic young generation of vignerons making waves in Champagne and producing a fine array of terroir-driven champagnes, adopting a natural approach to viticulture, looking for balance in their grapes, soils and vineyards.
